Rates, Payment & Contract
Rates
Allograph works on either an hourly rate or flat fee basis.
Hourly rate excludes tax where applicable, administration,
printing, mailing, communications, and travel.
Productivity
The number of pages per hour determines our quotation and
this varies according to several factors.
§ Condition and complexity of the manuscript or document.
§ Your editing requirements and specifications.
§ Additional research and re-writing required.
§ Specialised knowledge we might bring to the project.
Excludes services quoted separately: fact checking, picture
research, permissions, production co-ordination, creating
or recasting tables or figures, mark-up and project editing.

Business Documents
§ Four page business document of 1000 words
Structural and copy editing: $200
Proof reading: $60
§ Web site copy editing of text document, 250-500 words (not
html):
Basic copy editing for grammar and punctuation: $35-50
Editing copy to include search engine keywords:

§ Book Editing

Copy editing: $1850
Proof reading: $1300
Payment Terms
On initial assignment for amounts over $1000, half the fee
is payable in advance. For amounts under $1000, full fee
is payable in advance.
On subsequent assignments over $1000,
payment
is
in
three
stages: 1/3 on starting; 1/3 on submission of first version;
and balance
on final acceptance.
Invoices due and payable on submission.
Quotations are valid for 30 days, and we reserve the right
to change our rates without notice.
Interest at 2% per month is added to overdue amounts.

Payment Methods
For clients in Canada and the USA:

We mail or email you an invoice. Cheques should be payable
to Allograph, and mailed to our Vancouver address.

We use the customizable Standard Editorial Freelance Agreement
from the Editors’ Association of Canada, that covers
most options offered by editors.
